What
makes a Perfect Wedding? Is
it the dress, the venue, the food, the weather?
Why do we all worry about
the day going so perfectly and what defines perfect?
To quote the dictionary
definition, perfect means 'Having all the desired or required elements'. The required
elements to make your marriage legal are; .
Two
Consenting Adults - Both over the age of 18 (unless written permission has
been give to a minor by their legal guardian) you will be asked to confirm your
consent by repeating the wedding vows.
Venue - The venue you choose
to hold your wedding ceremony in needs to be sanctioned by law to be able to hold
legal wedding ceremonies.
Marriage Register - Your marriage is not
official until you have both signed the wedding register and two people and the
Officiant at your wedding have witnessed this and a notice of intention to marry
has been displayed or announced in public in the weeks before you wedding day.
As long as you have all of the above, you can legitimately get married and live
happily ever after, but what else do we consider to be needed to make our wedding
day perfect?
The Guests - Of course you want people to come and
celebrate this day with you, so you invite your immediate family, extended family,
friends, work colleagues, neighbours etc…
The Outfits - The dress,
the dress! No wedding day is complete without the vision in white and her beautifully
dressed groom handsome in his suit. Guests will see this 'vision of perfection'
and are sure to know this is the wedding of the year!
The Rings
- The unending circle, a symbol of your never ending love and commitment to one
another.
The Photographer - To capture the best moments of the day
and maybe some you would rather forget!
The Wedding Breakfast -
Your first meal as a married couple and a chance to treat your guests to 3 courses
of fabulous food.
The Reception - To provide fantastic entertainment
for your guest so they can dance the night away and celebrate your marriage in
style.
As well as the cake, chair covers, favours, music, matching stationery,
honeymoon, videographer, entertainers, flowers, wedding lists, classic cars, hair
and make up artists, thank you gifts, fireworks, the list goes on….
So
what does make a wedding day perfect? Including everything in the list plus some
other personal touches ad surprises that have you pulling your hair out in planning
frustration, hoping everything will go ok on the day?
Nope, its you. Ask
any guest why they have accepted the invitation to attend your wedding celebrations
and the answer will most likely be the same. They want to see you get married
to each other. Share in the day and your hopes for your future.
Many people
may comment on the beautiful venue and fantastic cake and the brilliant music
but their lasting memory will be the one of you really enjoying your day. Not
you and your new husband rushing about worrying that things look as they should
or run as they were planned.
So relax, the answer to perfection on your
wedding day is as easy as this. You and him and the start of a long and happy
marriage.
